Actress Meagan Good, actor/director Ty Hodges and our very own Maximus Dan along with other celebrities were all a part of Guardian Angel Project’s screening of the independent feature “Miles from Home”. A fabulous after party bash was thrown by The Talent Factory, which is the acting division of Question Mark Entertainment.
The film, with its strong images of homeless and displaced youth struck a nerve with all its patrons: “In light of the problems affecting our country, the time has come for all of us to stand up and be counted. The issues we face did not manifest overnight, so it’s up to us to stop dwelling on the negatives and work on ways to bring about positive change, because we owe it to ourselves and the land of our birth,” says Maximus Dan.
The Guardian Angel Project stems from the DCDB Foundation which was started by Maximus Dan in 2006 to remind our youth of the dangers of making the wrong choices. With ideals like Maximus Dan’s we know that the people of our twin island home will not let this dilemma overwhelm us.
The movie did more than just open our eyes to this tragic reality but also gave us the opportunity to show the international circuit the issues we face universally. But in the spirit of positive reinforcement Movietowne didn’t make our foreign friends feel miles from home but rather closer to comfort akin to that fabulous L.A. glamour. |
