MACO MAGAZINES PLAYS GOLF IN CANOUAN

MACO Magazine was on-hand to witness the very first Trump Million Dollar Invitational Tournament, held on the 1,200 acre Raffles Resort Canouan Island , and hosted in conjunction with the Trump International Golf Club. MACO Caribbean Living, represented by Managing Director Neysha Soodeen, was specially invited by the Resort as the perfect magazine for the presentation of this exciting tournament, along with a host of celebrities and professional golfers.

Golf enthusiasts, including many notable celebrities, competed for bragging rights and US $1.6 million in cash prizes. Celebrities present included actor Dennis Quaid, Olympic medalist Edwin Moses, Adrian Young of the rock band No Doubt, baseball great Jose Alvarez, and Jim Breech of the Cincinnati Bengals. The event is a Major Championship of the U.S. Pro Golf Tour, and 85 members of the tour also competed. MACO was given full coverage and was present at all the exclusive events hosted for the tour.

MACO first featured the resort upon its inception when it was previously known as the Carenage Resort. It has since passed to new ownership (Canouan Resorts Development) and received a huge makeover, turning into the now-famous Raffles Resort Canouan Island . The Trump International Golf Club, designed by Jim Fazio, was launched in 2004 and has received accolades ever since, including Robb Report's ‘Best of the Best' for 2005.

Editor-in-Chief Neysha Soodeen met the charming Mr. Trump and was present at the grand prize-giving ceremony. MACO was the first to see this momentous event, proving our name once again as the inside scoop into the fabulous happenings of the Caribbean.
